- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  Everything. Lobby and lounge design - spectacular. Very quiet neighborhood which we loved, but still in Williamsburg so much to do. Huge beds and rooms - much bigger than the average in NYC. Lots of pillows as well - almost 6 on the bed! Rooms had everything. Safe, iron + ironing board, workspace, wardrobe, microwave, coffee-maker, wet-bar. The tub was deep-soaking so we took advantage of that as well. Good water pressure. We had a surprise balcony which was nice and relaxing. TV had cable channels, awesome late at night. Staff was super-friendly. Any request we had was fulfilled in 10 minutes max. Housekeeping cleaned the room and restocked toiletries everyday, which gave the hotel a 5-star feel. Last but not least, the courtyard garden. Perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee or read a newspaper. This is the best hotel in Brooklyn. I can't wait to be back and I will be recommending this hotel to all of my peers.

  This is a gem of a spot. Nathan is a consummate innkeeper. The breakfast is as unique and and memorable as many of the views you will enjoy in the park. Altogether a distinctive place to stay.

  Great WiFi, easy check in, held bags until flight, free airport shuttle. Great shower comfy bed. Could have loads of potential if more money were put into rooms and a lot better cleaning.

  Price was a lot for very poor quality, breakfast was not good, card had to be replaced three times, extremely dirty, humid and smelled awful. Shuttle driver was clearly high and scared us getting to the airport. Stopping at green lights extremely slow speed. Construction noise and supplies everywhere.

  Someone had brought dogs which is fine but they were barking for hours being left in the room alone. I mentioned it to front desk and they said owner wasn’t there so nothing they could do . I had a newborn with me and dogs were barking passed 1130pm . Desk should have called owners and told them to come back or moved us . Another problem we had was that our pillows smelt like cesspool . When checkout came around , no one was around , waited 25 mins for someone to come ! Breakfast bar also was super limited .

  One minor "negative" was that in both rooms I reserved, there was a slight odor. Not sure if it was cleaning solutions or maybe a lingering odor of food. Not sure but again I say it was minor.

  when we walked inside there was a terrible odor. the furniture smelled really bad. the bedding smelled like sweat. the fan didnt work in the first bedroom, the light fixture was cracked. the lamp on bedside table was loose. the floor was black. the water in the tub with jets didnt get hot. the main hot tub did not work. some of the receptacles did not work.
