    - “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

      When staff did finally came to assist staff was very nice and respectful. Was willing to work through any issues or problems. Even though things wasn’t resolved right away or resolved at all mostly staff was respectful. Had a slide in door so u could go either way & sit outside. Was local to fast food & local stores including gas stores.

      When I went to book the room I had a very hard time trying to book the room wasn’t any staff at the room it was like 2 hours before I could get through to anybody. Room didn’t get cleaned housekeeping ain’t come no days. Room needed maintenance, bathroom needed maintenance. Tv didn’t work shower wasn’t cleaned had to buy cleaning supplies to clean it myself. Wasn’t enough wash clothes nor towels.

      Breakfast was wonderful!! Lots of unexpected food items! Bathroom was beautiful, but coming out of the shower to the moist tiles could be alittle slippery. Very clean room, nice coffee maker in the room, plus coffee and tea was available in the lobby 24/7. Cookies and dog biscuits at the check in very a bonus too!

      It was personal and relaxing. Best trip ever. Staff greeted you and said goodbyes. They made you feel special. They had a bar and restaurant. So if you want just to stay at the hotel you didn’t have to travel anywhere else. Spa and fitness center
