- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

The outdoor space allocated to the B&B is manicured with fruit trees and a nice seating area. Parking is right by the entrance. Very conveniently located for our needs connecting with local family. Just a perfect place to stay.”

  The suite was clean. The view was great from the balcony. The gas fireplace was a nice touch. We had two minor maintenance issues when we arrived but maintenance was there quickly and soon resolved. Very good communication from their staff, making sure all was good. Bed was very comfortable. We grilled steaks on the gas grills which we really enjoyed.

  I liked the pool area - excellent WIFI - the view from our room - bed was comfortable for one but NOT 2 - housekeeping was very good

  You have to sign out for a hairdryer - never heard of that - happy I brought my own amenities for bathroom as hotel offers NONE! The towels provided for very old and ragged; i.e. I use these type of towels for RAGS! The sinks were surrounded with RUST - the toilet bowl was built for tiny people - the flush handle was buried underneath the shelving and very hard to get out and actually push - toilet paper holder also buried under shelving - UGH! The floor in room very UNEVEN - some type of boards sticking up under carpet - the TV was small size to begin with but when turned on you lost 2 inches of screen on each side - parking spaces tight as we had a Ram truck and the only way to get your luggage in was via the basement garage - the hotels water faucet on beach no longer works to remove sand from feet, etc. AND total disrespect for the American Flag as those placed in grounds were old and almost laying on the grounds; we did mention to staff behind desk to please pick up or replace - while we were there nothing was done.

  AC fan was noisy and the cooler cabinet door would not stay closed. Maintenance eventually removed the door. There were only 2 sets of towels, hand towels, and washcloths for 2 people. Only 2 pillows and no extra blankets. We asked the front desk for more towels, pillows, and blankets. They brought the towels. We had to go back and ask for the pillows and blankets. They brought the pillows. We went back to the front desk and asked for blankets. We eventually got the blankets. The room key is suppose to open the parking garage gate, but it's hit and miss.
