The bed was comfortable.
Internet didn’t work. The woman at front desk was very condescending. The man in the morning was very nice and helpful. Something happened very early in the morning the morning and we could hear a woman screaming. It was scary. On the website it’s written that the parking is free but it’s not true. They charged me for the parking.

When we got to our room there were clearly blood stains all over the room including a partial handprint on the back of the door. The carpet and bedding had blood stains as well that had been attempted to be cleaned but stains remained. There was what I can only think is vomit splatter in the bathtub, a lampshade was crooked on the lamp in the corner. Honestly it looked as if there had been a struggle in that room and there was minimal effort to hide it. I snapped a pic of the handprint on the door but was so afraid I rushed out of there and that’s the only pic I took which was stupid of me. I went to the front desk and reported it to the person on duty. They offered to change my room for me, but honestly, I was so afraid I wanted to stay elsewhere. I was told since I used booking, I would have to take it up with them for the refund. I contacted booking and they said I had to take it up with the hotel for a refund. I provided the picture of the hand print on the door and of course they denied it was their hotel and refused my refund. After I left there that night, I used booking and booked a room at a hotel two blocks away. If you are staying in Roanoke, do not stay here! Stay at the country Inn by Radisson instead it is very nice well lit and safe.

“So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the plumbing is high-quality, and the beds are comfortable. It's also very nice that there are automatic blinds on the windows, so you can sleep in complete darkness in the morning. Additionally, each cottage has a shared kitchen.”
