It was big enough to host our family of 5, although one of the kids used a mattress set on the floor. We could prepare a simple breakfast using the kitchen, even air-fry our pao de queijo. The location is excellent, just two blocks from the Copacabana beach and Blue Note Rio. There are terrific places to eat around, as well as washing facilities and stores. It's very well communicated with buses going everywhere around the city, and the metro station is just around the corner.”

  This summer I had the misfortune of staying at more than 20 hotels across the city while waiting to move into my new apartment. By the time I arrived at the Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel I was exhausted and ready to never pay for another hotel - but this property completely reversed that feeling. It was hands down the best hotel I stayed in, excelling in style, service, comfort, location, amenities, and atmosphere. Bar none Not only is the hotel situated above the Apollo, but it’s also within easy reach of six train lines that take you to Midtown in under 15 minutes. The atmosphere is vibrant and uplifting, pulling me out of my bad mood almost immediately — clearly the result of thoughtful design and the energy of guests enjoying themselves amenities: The beds are genuinely comfortable, the blackout curtains effective, and the TV setup is easy to use unlike other hotels. The staff appears to enjoy doing their job as they are genuinely kind and welcoming.

  Yes it is pricy but what you pay here gets you a completely different experience from some Midtown hotels, where profiling and mistreatment can ruin your 400 dollar a night stay; at the Renaissance Harlem I felt respected and looked after. I had planned to swear off staying in NYC hotels altogether, but this experience changed my mind — I’ll be returning here for my next staycation.”

  I like the location and the fact that I don't share a wall with anyone. Plus, the parking is excellent! I like having my own space right in front of my door.

  The bed was not comfortable at all! It felt old and it was sloping to one side. Every towel that I used had a stain on it. There were bugs in my room. There were stains on the mattress. The cooler/AC unit was so incredibly loud! It would clang, then bang, then make weird sounds like a cat playing inside a paper bag. It would constantly turn on and off and it made it very difficult to sleep. The whole place felt old and dingy. I didn't want to walk around on the floors without my shoes on. And finally, the shower had absolutely no pressure!

  Did not like that. The room was not handicap accessible in the restroom. They gave us a shower chair. But it was too big for the bathtub needed a room with 2 beds one for me and caregiver The toilets were very low. I'm only 5 feet tall and were hard to get off of especially when you have spine surgery they wanted to put in 2 rooms but charge for 2 rooms cause there only one rolling shower
