- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  Even though our stay was just overnight, we were greeted by a *friendly, warm* check-in! The young women who was at the front desk was thorough and hospitable. Also, greeted by a handsome four legged gentleman whom is paid with TREATS! Our room was nautical themed, bright, clean and spacious. This property recently underwent a facelift, inside and out! Our checkout was completed by freshly brewed coffee and a well stocked coffee station. Ample parking on property. Short walk to boardwalk, local restaurants and the beach!

  Very easy code, we had no problems. The property was within walking distance to food. Very close to the beach, you could hear it in the front of the house. I liked the back yard. Didn't use the fire pit because it was too hot. I thought the beds were comfortable, very firm. However, if you like a softer bed like my husband he didn't care for them much. Kitchen was nice with modern appliances. Close to the historic district for some shopping.

  If you are going to go to relax and not do much, we were moving our kid into college so it wasn't a vacation necessarily, the living room could have been more comfortable for hanging out and watching movies.

  When we came to check out by 5:00, the front desk lady was sleeping on the couch and I couldn’t wake her up. After 5 minutes of trying she finally woke up… kind of a weird situation, but it’s not that bad.

  It was an exceptionally clean place, the fragrance used throughout the hotel even in the parking lot was wonderful and unexpected. Because they want you to eat at their restaurants there's no microwave in the rooms (the only complaint i have) the ocean view from the 38th floor was breathtaking. I didn't want to leave.
