The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  Great value at just under 100 per night. The rooms are immaculately clean (the housekeeping staff is awesome) and the AC units in the rooms BLAST cold air. Don’t even need the fridge in the room, just leave the AC on and you’re good. John at the front desk is the man too! Always in a good mood and knows the area well for pointers on certain places or things to do. I’d stay here again anytime!

  Amazing comfortable apartment bottom floor with everything in it to have a great stay. Would definitely book again. There are lots of things around to do.

  Nothing to do with the host or apartment but was disappointed that the pool was down when we stayed and that everyone has dogs but no one even attempted to pick up after them is crazy to me being a dog owner myself. Down side about being on the first floor, you hear ppl all night, but in the bedrooms, it's not bad. The apartment did have a funky smell but bought some air freshener and it was fine.

  The biggest thing: the interior door frame was cracked. Someone had obviously tried to break into the room and the motel never bothered to fix the door frame. Testing the door you could tell it was loose, like it wouldn't be much effort to finish the job. I did not feel secure in that room. I should've looked into getting another room. The beds were also hard and cheap. Plenty of covers though! And the breakfast was very basic, to say the least. Almost like, why bother?

  Everything, the late night worker, was a horrible person!! Very unprofessional! Called our phones for a hour and a half while we were at a concert because my friend ran down the road to get something to drink, made us leave the concert to come remove our dogs! Then accused us of not notifying we had dogs, when it was on the booking site that we had TWO dogs with us! The room smelled awful of chemicals and the first room he put us in was OCCUPIED! Then blamed us for going to the room he wrote on our paper and told us to go to!! Tbh if I ever go back and see him, it’s gonna be all the best problems to be made!! You hateful, miserable, unprofessional POS!! The staff was awful, the rooms were awful, the ac didn’t work, water wasn’t even warm, elevator felt like it would stop working at any second, I could go on for days as to why this place shouldn’t even be running! But I’ll leave it at this, DONT GO HERE!!!!
