- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  It is a pearl in an oyster. The room was clean,comfortable, roomy, had all the amenities, plenty of parking, a restaurant on-site, an ice cream shop within a quarter of a mile, the shore within 10 minutes and a staff that cares about your needs and is super friendly. They even have for pets to go and walk around. They even have fire pits out back and seating outside for enjoying the beautiful weather. Thank You Cheryl for making it a Great Stay!!😀❤️ We definitely will be back!!😀❤️👍

  I liked the location, the valet and the front desk staff, specifically Ashley were great. Ashley went out of her way to accommodate us.

  There were several things that negatively impacted our trip. To start, my girlfriend didn't want to stay at The Dream. We attend a local event in the area every September, and we usually stay at The Thompson Hotel, literally right around the corner from Dream. However, I convinced her to try the Dream, although the Thompson had always met our expectations. I booked the top tier room, and to my surprise, the room was located on the third floor. I knew that was going to be a problem due to busy location. So, Friday night we're preparing to go to dinner. We turn the water on to take a quick shower. To my surprise, the water would not warm up. In fact, I timed it. It took 8 minutes for the water to get luke warm. Needless to say, we didn't take a shower before going to dinner. Upon returning from dinner, we contacted Ashley at the front desk and told her about the lack of hot water. She immediately contacted an engineer. Approximately 10 minutes later, the service engineer arrived. He explained that the circulation pump was not working properly. To make a long story short. We still had to run the water at least five or six minutes in advance to get hot water. So, after that ordeal, we made the best of the situation. Now, this is the reason I booked a top tier room, but remember, this top tier room is on the third floor. At Approximately 2:00 a.m. we were awakened by extremely LOUD music!!!! We couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Initially, we thought it was Tao next door, but restaurants don't stay open until 2 o'clock in the morning. Finally, we discovered it was a food truck across the street from the hotel. This went on until after 3:00 a.m.!!! Please be reminded that I talked my girlfriend into switching hotels, so now I'm really feeling bad. Even after all of this happened the first day, I wanted to give The Dream the benefit of the doubt.
