- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  The property is kinda hidden … but, other than that, it’s quiet and I love that part! I also like that I can cook here and it feels like home to me. Mike,Jay, and Chris is amazing ingredients they greeted me with a smile and checked me in pretty fast. I have no complaints.

  Comfy bed, clean floors and bathroom, microwave & fridge, no yahoos for neighbors at the motel (I appreciate the owners strict policy on no pets, no smoking, no visitors after 10pm). Will 100% stay again if in the area.

  Location is very convenient and next to highway 35. Reasonably priced and I've almost never had a problem in the couple of months I've stayed here. Rooms are clean and tidy.

  My stay from September 2nd to the 4th started off normal. On the the 3rd however our toilet wouldn't flush. I went to let the office know and the white lady with glasses told me that there was no maintenance and that I should go get one of their plungers near their ice machines. I was confused why I would have to resolve it myself but I went to check but couldn't find any plungers. Went back to let her know I couldn't find one. This lady was extremely rude and disrespectful. She first snapped at me for trying the doors where she sent me for the plungers, even though they looked like areas for storage. Then she snapped at me for not checking the areas upstairs, which she hadn't mentioned initially so I wouldn't have even known what was on the 2nd floor. When I went back to let her know there were no plungers, she snapped at me again and told me I was out of luck and to deal with it. I even went and bought a plunger to see if I could fix the clog. Eventually a maintenance worker showed up, after being told there wasn't any maintenance. He attempted to fix the clog but it turns out it was actually the building backing up. So I had no way of fixing the issue myself which I shouldn't have had to anyway as a guest here. The building back up was eventually fixed the next day. We had to deal with sewage running across the parking lot and an unusable restroom that whole night. Only reason this review isn't a 1.0 is because the rest of their staff has always been amazing.
