The concierge BEV went above and beyond the scope of her duties. My husband was experiencing some medical issues and her compassion and care for a guest (she did not know) was simply amazing. Her vast knowledge of Mackinac Island allowed my daughter and I to have the best trip and she will not be forgotten. I would definitely recommend staying here, especially with Bev at the helm of the concierge’s desk.

The stairwell and elevator felt isolated and dangerous to a lone traveler, there were loud vehicles and sirens all night, unhoused individuals on the street next to the parking lot, I heard a gunshot at one point, and there was an individual with erratic behavior outside my window on the walkway who was going in and out of the room next door talking loudly on his phone. Though I was reassured staff was patrolling the property my loud neighbor was outside my window for two hours. The parking lot was poorly lit and once I felt unsafe in the room it seemed more unsafe to leave to get to my car. There were all kinds of disclaimers about the property that made me nervous upon check in, no dishes available for the kitchenette as it was implied they were regularly stolen, and when I emailed the property to request a refund for my second night it was denied. I didn’t sleep the 6 hours I huddled in the room afraid for my safety. I checked out the next morning notifying the desk staff of all the above and was told it my 2 night stay was non refundable.

Poor bathroom condition requiring maintenance. One of the lights didn’t work intermittently. Ceiling of bathroom was filthy. Bathroom vent was not working. Bathroom sink drain was clogged. Shower head came off when turning on the tap and was just stuck to the pipe. Really bad. Rest of room was ok. Staff at front desk did take all the notes above but this wasn’t really helping us at the end of the day. We checked in late night and most of these issues were discovered the next morning. These issues should have been detected if the rooms were properly inspected time to time.
