I noticed the Bayside had no elevator to the second story rooms, so I asked for one at ground level. We don't like hauling heavy luggage up and down long flights of stairs. The room we got had a window facing a street where transients seemed to hang out, and when my wife saw someone sleeping next to our window, she said she didn't feel comfortable staying there. I went back and asked the desk clerk for an upstairs room instead, and she gave us one, no problem. Said someone would even help us carry our luggage up the stairs. Room was spacious and clean. Close to Old Town Eureka and restaurants. The gentleman who hosted the complimentary breakfast room each morning was a great guy. He even remembered my name on our second day there. I noticed previous reviewers said the breakfast was pathetic, but when we ate there, they had steamed eggs, pancakes, yogurt, coffee, three types of dry cereal, juices, milk, toast, bagels, and more!

The room was very comfortable, the beds, linens & pillows were really excellent. Everything was super clean, the room smelled fresh. The AC did a great job of keeping the room cool. Great water pressure, shower was very nice. The fridge in the room kept everything cold & there was a microwave but we didn't use it. Breakfast was decent, we had eggs & fried potatoes that were very tasty! & sausage patties with a green chile sauce that was homemade there. The breakfast lady explained to us that she alternates items every other day. There was really a lot to choose from, something for everyone. The breakfast room was clean & pleasant. Great proximity to a gas station, restaurants. The view of the Missouri River from the overlook in the parking lot was stunning. All in all, a good stay & a good value.

There is no elevator on this property & flights of stairs going up & going down to the different levels. It's not easy bumping along the stairs with a heavy suitcase. The pool & spa are located in a separate building. Also, there wasn't a coffee maker in the room.

Water was scalding hot and the bed could have been more comfortable but overall a nice place to stay.
