The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  Breakfast was great, the dining area was clean and well supplied. We especially liked the clean, spacious room, the comfortable bed and the couch for relaxing. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

  The sink was partially plugged, the room temperature had been turned down to 60 which was too cold for us. My husband turned on the furnace which smelled bad from the summer dust. One TV didn't work and the other received only one channel.

  The stairs to the bedroom were not even and they were frightening. There was no bathroom in the loft so coming down in the middle of the night did not feel safe. We slept on the hide a bed downstairs and it was the best we had ever slept on.

  Location around the hotel was not great. The room was ok but not outstanding. When I made the booking through booking.com, no mention was made of all the extra taxes which added up to quite a bit. They also charged an additional $20 per day (plus taxes) for parking, which was also not made clear when I booked. Many hotels have free parking.

  Sizable room, comfortable beds. Daily fresh linen. Extra elevators to avoid or mitigate checkout rush. Close to the Javits Center and cheaper than the hotels in the area around convention season. Also comes with a small fridge and microwave compared to other hotels in the area.

  There could have been more outlets. Some weren't working and the body soap in the shower room was nearing empty. The cooling wasn't all that strong until the day we were away from the room the entire day.
