Overall this was a nice place to stay. The continental breakfast was good, the staff was friendly, the room was clean and reasonably well-appointed.

The only thing I would take issue with (and this seems to be something that is a "trend", I guess?) is that rooms only have bed sheets...no bedspreads or comforters. We were lucky enough to have (by accident) had a comforter in the trunk of our car (long story), but it came in handy. It wasn't necessarily that we were overly cold (it's summer in California), but it seemed a bit spartan, and even just the additional weight of the comforter was...well...comforting. I suspect that the lack of a bedspread or comforter is that they may not be conducive to washing frequently (let alone daily), and I know there have been numerous reports of bedspreads being one of the nastier (germ- and other unmentionables)-wise items found in a hotel/motel room, and particularly "Post" (but is it, really?)-Covid, a sore spot for possibly a fair amount of folks, but I personally did not care for the limited covers...Also, $250 bucks seems a "bit"(?) on the "rich" side for what basically amounts to a motor lodge...(even if it IS located in "tony Saratoga")...

Found dog hair on me several times, a few of those times being in the bed. Chairs at the table were so wobbly we didn’t even sit in them and two had already been replaced prior to our stay so it was obvious it wasn’t a good idea to sit in them.

The pancake machine is a mistake. When I stayed at this place a couple of weeks ago, the pancake machine was jammed up. The breakfast lady got it to work, but only partially. This stay, the pancake machine was totally out of commission. Ditch the pancake machine and get the simpler, but workable, waffle maker.
