Hotel is in a perfect location, a couple blocks from Central Park, Columbus Circle and subway and theatre district. Easy walk to Times Square, short walk to Bryant Park, and anything in that area. Bed was comfortable, room was very clean. It was not modern, but it was functional furniture that was again clean and in good shape, so feel like for the price in the area it was a great value. Staff was very helpful and nice. We had AC which really kept the room cool and could be set to your preference. There is a small refrigerator which was nice. Ahead of our stay staff answered all questions about recommendations with great suggestions.

Not really a dislike, but would have preferred having a microwave and in room coffee. We asked for a kettle and had one so that was good for heating water for tea. The small hair dryer on the bathroom wall stopped working.

Nice easy location to find. Had a great restaurant inside that had great food and bar with TV's and so it was a great way to unwind in the evening.

The entire experience honestly. This was the worst La Quinta hotel by far. The building is not clean, needs maintenance very badly and honestly the condition of this hotel probably isnt up to code for the health department. I had arrived to hotel and upon check in i was hit with the worst musky, old, rotten milk kind of smell. Checked in and had a pleasant and professional conversation with the gront desk agent Nick. Went to see the room and it was missing a bed. Went back to front desk, again nick was pleasant, apologized, and switched to different room, 2nd room had an inch of standing water on the floor of over half the entire room . Went back to front desk and was given a 3rd room, the smell of this room, hit ya like a ton of bricks, the floors were dirty and visibly not clean. I decided i was not going to stay at this hotel, and wouldnt be okay to sleep here with my family. So i went back to the desk a 3rd time and nick was very accommodating and again apologized. He said he cancelled my reservation and i will not be charged. But i was charged and that is what i did not like.

Called me the day of my reservation expecting me to call them back by 7:30pm or else my reservation would be cancelled. What kind of policy is that? Luckily we arrived shortly after 7:30 and they still had our original room, but I would have been very upset if they would have given our room away...what's the point of having a reservation if you're not going to keep it for the customer? Our balcony was not private and our neighbors were smoking weed from the time we checked in until at least 3:30am so we couldn't use our balcony at all. Fox News was on the huge TV at breakfast and made me lose my appetite for the barely mediocre food options. Pool and hot tub were overcrowded and water was gross looking and murky. We decided not to swim. Room wasn't very clean. Knobs and handles were sticky and there was yuck all over the carpet. Not good for a family with a curious 17 month old. Very disappointing experience. We will spend our $ elsewhere.

There was a little bit of a cleanliness issue with some of the kitchen cutlery, but we weren't cooking anything, so it didn't matter to us. The ice bucket in the freezer was obviously old and dirty, so we just used our cooler for ice, instead. there was also what appeared to be a problem with a leak in the air conditioning vent that seemed to be actively in repair: the vent cover was loose, the filter was leaning against it, and when I went to install it myself, there were towels stuffed underneath. I left it the way we found it so that I didn't disturb any in-progress work being done.
