Loved location, easy to find and check in. To get to driveway you had to drive through another parking lot for a store but otherwise, not a big deal.

The hotel smelled funny from check in all the way to room. The curtains in room were ripped all the way up them and looked dirty, and the furniture looked old and abused. Our room was supposed to be a handicapped room but didn't have walk-in shower (that was in the advertised picture). Plugs fell out of most plug ins. We could hear all the doors in rooms around us slam every few minutes, and the second-floor hallway smelled like cigars all the time.

The "Two bedroom queen suite" does not have two bedrooms! There is one bedroom with two queen beds and a door, a sitting area with a kitchenette, and a bathroom. When I complained, the manager told me the sitting area has a sleep sofa and that is the second bedroom. Calling this a two bedroom suite is deceptive - the only difference between a regular queen suite and a "two bedroom" suite is the door! We had to pay extra for another bedroom. Don't get caught like we did! The breakfast is NOT a "very good breakfast" as claimed on the booking website. I would call it just OK. No cut fruit, no muffins or danish pastries, no deli meats, no hash browns - the things I would expect at a "very good" breakfast.

Our room was not cleaned completely upon move in, including the shower, bathroom floor, and linens and pillowcases which were left on the floor; the trash cans were not emptied, the light cover in the bathroom was laying on the floor. The toilet was loose and rocked, there was a broken light switch in the bathroom. As we were checking out, there was a flood of water coming through the ceiling from the upstairs unit. We were trying to leave our room by 7 AM to get to our destination at 8. When I asked for a manager I was told they were not in until 8 o’clock; I waited patiently and when the person arrived, they said they were not the manager, but needed to contact a different manager; however the person that was there earlier told me this was the manager…. I politely asked for a discount on the room since it was not satisfactory, left my name and number and asked them to call me that day to discuss. After two days, I have not received any calls. I understand things happen, but I do expect a follow up call when I ask for one. We’ve stayed at this property several times before with no issues so I expect this was probably just a one off; still very disappointing how things turned out. We will probably look for a different option next time we are down in Illinois.

We had to change rooms twice due to maintenance issues because the repair person was not on site over the weekend and couldn't fix things. When we checked out, the manager apologies and said he would refund us for one night of our stay due to having to move rooms twice, but he never did give us our money back--even after following up with Booking and the hotel directly.

Electrical outlets that could not hold a plug. TV remotes confusing. Breakfast had no cream for coffee, no milk for cereal, no meat & table cloths were filthy. Two employees too busy talking to each other, at the check desk to notice.
