Unfortunately, I will not be returning. First, I think the hotel Galvez had a lot more charm, before the remodel. The remodel, does not go with the history of the Hotel Galvez, it’s a shame, the owners made it look like Vegas, it looks cheap. Having the old-fashioned car in front next to the reception desk, makes the entry way crowed , Before the remodel, they had the piano, and it was more open. And looked a lot more elegant. At the pool, there was only one bartender, no waitress or waiter walking around to take orders for food/drinks. But I do have to say valet was on point, went far and beyond to always have your car ready, friendly,.

The room and common area were of the best design and decorating that I’ve seen. Room carpet was well selected for quality and very well cleaned. Location was great and separate parking arrangements were convenient and reasonably priced. Acashia, the manager on staff, really sold on staying when we stopped by to look at the property. Cleaning staff was amazing. Common areas were cleaned multiple times a day.

The basement gym was destroyed in the August flood and hadn't been reconstructed yet. that was understandable as it was less than a month later. It was small and perhaps could be expanded with a universal gym. Lotions and other luxury toiletries could be added to the rooms

Location was great being close to town but far enough away to fill like you were not in the middle of everything. Overall room size and layout was great. Facilities were great with onsite pool and play area.

There were some issues with cleanliness. Everything was okay until we pulled back the bed spread. Hairs (some pubic), glitter, and dirt were on the sheets. We reached out to the property manager. They were very responsive and assured us the sheets were clean but could not provide a fresh set even after multiple back and forths. They only asked how we would like to proceed with the booking. Really? This was around 10:30PM, and we were ready for bed! Either keep extra linens in the room or come up with a viable solution. I don't care if you say they are clean, there was too much evidence of filth in the bed that we didn't feel comfortable. My wife and I had to sleep on towels the first night, then washed the sheets ourselves the second night. When we removed the sheets from the in-room washer and dryer, a little girl's panties were found bundled up in the load. Where did those come from? The bed? They really need to vet their cleaning staff and ensure this doesn't happen again.

Unfortunately, the front desk had a tray of cookies. We got some. In the room ants swarmed the cookies. The room was infested with ants. We told the front desk staff and they were aware of the problem. They said the end of the hotel we were placed in was having an ant problem. Couple issues here. First, FIX THE ANT PROBLEM!! Don't place customers on the end of the hotel with the ant problem. I suggested they not give out cookies if they knew they had an ant problem. They said the manager wanted them to have the cookies. Won't stay there again. It seems maybe management has changed.
