I knew what to expect when I booked, just a quick overnight stay on a drive south. That said, as far as Motel 6's go, this was above average. Pool was functional, AC cold, microwave and fridge in the room, water temp and pressure fine, bed comfortable, room clean, and lots of things nearby. Decent neighborhood and friendly/attentive staff also. For the money, hard to find a better value.

WiFi is extremely slow. Also, except within the pool area, there is no single table (like to have some snacks, pic nic, etc). Would be a very helpful addition.

It was gross. The first room he wanted to give us smelled like smoke. There is a huge black mold spot on the ceiling in the first floor in the hallway.

Our room was not cleaned - the sheets were visibly dirty (with brown dirt) floors were kinda sticky & dirty - the tub was rusted & filled with water as you showered (drained very slowly)

The building itself is clearly showing its age. The extensive carpeting throughout the floors & rooms retain the humidity of NOLA & there’s really not an easy answer for a large property. Upstairs everything felt musty.

When walked in toilet had poop and pee stains heavily on toilet. Desk attendant had to go clean herself. Later that night noticed blood stain in sheets. It had been washed but the large stain was there. At night all the roaches came out.
