We were VERY happy with our cabin. While this is an older property, the interior of the cabins were completely updated. The long dirt driveway is nearly a two-track under a heavily wooded canopy - perfect for a cabin in the woods. There is a parking spot right next to each cabin. A short walk gets you to a small lookout platform above the beautiful, clean, white sand beaches of Lake Michigan. A stairway led down to the beach for swimming or just enjoying the sun. The weather was VERY hot but the SW breeze off the big lake combined with a decent Air Conditioner to keep us cool. The property provided several floor fans to move the cool air from the living room into the bedroom and that worked great.

There were some minor cleanliness issues such as a used q-tip in the corner of the living room and a loose candy wrapper under the table (which probably fell out of a garbage bag unnoticed during the cleaning process), but on the whole, it was well kept. I'd STRONGLY recommend that the property owner rebuild the stairway down to the beach. It is long, steep and has developed signs of aging including a noticeable "lean" forward. While this is fairly common on a personal property, it really needs to be improved for commercial use. I'd be nervous going down those stairs if I had any mobility issues at all. Better stairs and a landing halfway down would be a huge win. We did experience a toilet clog that took some effort to clear - but this is typical of old "northwoods" plumbing.

Breakfast was quite enjoyable and check in was smooth and trouble free. The layout of the two bedroom suite was exactly what we needed. The female desk clerks we dealt with were kind and very helpful and the property itself is really nice. Our room was clean and everything was nice and peaceful and quiet.

Room 428 is a long walk from the front desk and front entrance - for people with physical difficulties that walk is extremely tedious. The sofa in that room needs to be replaced -- it's old and outdated.

The staff was great, the bed comfy, the pool refreshing, the price great, and the location is only a 10 minute drive to Asbury Park.

It's an older property that, despite the cleaning staff's best efforts, is a bit run down. Also, someone wrote, "Crystal," in permanent marker on my pillow. I found it a bit funny, but seriously guys, replace your pillows once in a while. Also, given the number of condom wrappers in the parking lot, it was apparent some folks chose to skip paying for a room, and did their business in the parking lot. Not the Inn's fault they're located next to a strip club.

Our first stay at this location will be the last. Upon arriving, i walked in and said hello to the man working. He hushed me, raising the phone to indicate he was on a call. I apologized and waited as he took a reservation. Almost 30minutes later of waiting -there was now a line in the lobby. He asked for my ID and card, still not even a welcome or anything. I asked if I needed to put my email and his response was no we are not that shady. Okay, he then told me the room # and went to helping the next person. He did not appear to want to be helping anyone at all. We wandered unfamiliar to this loaction before finding the elevator that was in the lobby. We arrived in our room that was pretty gross. Bowel movement on the walls, hand towel filthy with makeup and hair, couch had what I hope was a bleach stain but unsure so we didn't sit on it, floor stains, and later as we proceeded to use cups -dried food left on them so had to handwash them. After the greeting we received, I definitely was not interested in interacting with the desk person so stuck it out. I was hoping to like this place, but we won't be revisiting any time soon.
