Not only was I given a filthy room that literally looked trashed like someone had checked out and they never cleaned it there were roaches crawling out cracks and crevices in the bathroom. My special needs child was petrified to sleep there and when I called the front desk to let them know so they could move to a different room the lady was unapologetic and said it was sold out that there was no manager on duty & there was nothing she could do. I was a late check in so by the time I walked into the lobby to get a refund so I could go somewhere else there had been a shift change and the other employee was not only embarrassed but more empathetic to the situation and move me to a different room without hesitation. Affordability does not mean sleeping in a trashed place filled with vermin and moldy AC unit. Next day as we're trying to stay positive to the situation my special needs child was feeling overwhelmed and we wanted to take the breakfast to our room. I was prohibited from taking the items even after I explained the situation to the staff, he suggested my son just wear headphones as if that's the fix for every autistic child. I told them we would stay but my son wanted his honey & milk which we had forgotten in the cooler in the car and he wanted me to leave out food unattended in a full dinning room with strangers when I said I don't feel safe doing that he suggested I leave the food in the front desk that he would watch it. I ended up tossing everything in the trash as my son was verbally expressing he didn't want to be there & we couldn't bring the food out. Mind you it was only a waffle and a bowl of oatmeal because they only had limited choices- waffles, oatmeal, bread, yogurt and coffee!
