- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  The hotel smelled really weird; it wasn't clean; the carpets smelled old and like someone used to smoke there many years ago, and it was never properly cleaned. The air conditioning in our room was very dirty; we could see how dirty it was just by looking at it; when we turned it on, it smelled awful. The bed was not comfortable, too soft. Breakfast was almost non-existent.

  I love how friendly staff is. Food in every restaurant was amazing. Clean for having people giing in and out. Rooms are nice and dont smell musky.

  People smoking strong Marijuana around small children in the beach area. It was reported to security, but they did not come down to the beach and check. He just stayed in his golf cart and waited.

  We paid almost $700 for two nights and they charged us 10$ for WiFi and charged us for the worst cup of coffee. I’ve been to the worst hotels and they still offer free coffee in the lobby. Just seemed like they were penny pinching.

  This review is aimed at future customers of this location. This is not a hotel or a compound with apartments to rent. Top Floor Executive does not own the property, this is a one apartment rented by an owner in the Tierra del Ray compound. You cannot expect any service or support from the management as they have nothing to do with the offered service. I even think that the apartment is rented without tbe knowledge of the management of the compound. Also, you can check the reviews of the building to see it is a maximum 3-star location. The apartment itself is very worn and does not look at all as on the pictures. The bathrooms have mold. This for me is a scam as it is advertised as a 5-star hotel, but it is not a hotel and it is not even close to 4 star location. For these money, you can go to every 4-star hotel in the area and have all the amenities. The only advantage is that it has 2 bedrooms so if you need more space, it offers it. But expect very low quality. Finally, the owner is very aggressive. When we tried to discuss the situation with him instead of a normal conversation, he started to threaten us with authorities and immigration office. Overall, stay away from this location.
