Please be advised that the condition of this rental is misrepresented. As a result, our credit card company investigated and issued a full refund. (Booking.com offered only a small percentage of the fee, even when provided proof. The property owner said only "no refunds.") Online images show a bright, clean space, with furniture in good condition. In real life, the furniture is dilapidated and in some cases filthy. The online photos appear to have been cleaned up (AI or Photoshop perhaps) to make the apartment appear to be in better, newer condition than it is. Based on text messages, we expected Heavenly Stays (the agency Booking.com subcontracted) to deny the facts. For this reason, we took extensive photos of the actual apartment for Booking.com and also provided them to our credit card company, before leaving the room unused and finding a hotel room elsewhere.

The condition of the actual apartment differed so greatly from the online photos that we initially thought they'd sent us to a wrong address. (Our initial correspondence with them indicated a different address than the apt they eventually sent us to.) When they texted us back that this was indeed the right apartment—we realized we were dealing with a scammer. We stopped communication and immediately contacted our credit card company. With their help, we found alternate, last-minute hotel accommodations for the night. (We have receipts of this.) It was a stressful, unpleasant situation late at night. My wife has cancer, and this wasn't helpful. The many issues not shown or disclosed on the Booking.com listing are too long to list, but included: A tiny bathroom that's dirty and dilapidated. Damaged, filthy vanity, chipped tile. Holes in the walls where towel bars and a toilet paper holder should be. The fan cover is taped to the wall with masking tape. The windows are covered with ripped plastic wrap, which doesn't appear on Booking.com. The tiny lamp doesn't have a switch: it must be plugged in each time. The icing on the cake: The renter from the previous night showed up and asked us if we'd seen a bag. She said her bag went missing during her stay. We left asap. UPDATE: While we suspected this unscrupulous landlord might resist refunding our fee, we did NOT expect him to concoct a fraudulent, fictional, defamatory story about us! He retaliated against our honest review by posting baseless (and crazy) accusations of drug use and fraud. We're a law-abiding, middle-aged couple from outside NY and WE SUPPLIED PHOTOS / LEGAL EVIDENCE. Booking.com should permit them to be uploaded to save other travelers from our nightmare. RESPONSE TO LANDLORD: An honest property owner apologizes and corrects the issues. A scammer concocts false, defamatory accusations against truthful reviewers.

There are no elevators and the property is “hidden” behind a hedge. The hedges make the property very private once you find the entrance-and the courtyard area and fire-pit is great - but there could be a couple more signs.

The sink was totally stopped up, the toilet was stopped up, the shower ran on 60% (rest came out of tub faucet) - and the largest roach I have ever seen came out of tub drain (and I am from Florida so I know roaches) - the bathroom and plumbing were just awful -
