    - “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

      This is an old town hall and we stayed in the Public Defenders room which was well appointed. (If you can get the Mayor's room it is much larger and well appointed.) The inn is right next to a very good restaurant that is also owned by the owners of the Town Hall Inn. Nice comfortable bed, good morning continental breakfast, close proximity to center of town and close to Deadwood and Spearfish Canyon. Quiet.

      It wasnt too far from universal studios and we were exhausted.

      My room was disgusting and dirty. There were stains on the ceiling, bathtub was dirty, TV had a blue hue, the headboards were missing and the wall had something on it and pulled my mother's hair. The bathroom door looks like someone punched it. The microwave was dirty. Parking is absolutely terrible. Definitely not like the pictures on the website! also the fire alarm was hanging off the wall!!! worst room ever stayed in.
