The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  All of the staff was A1!! The front desk employees made us feel so welcome, and each time they saw us, they acknowledged us with a smile and a hello. The hotel was clean and comfortable. I was able to change the temperature in the room. I don't like it very cold. They had a lovely breakfast each morning, and the women working the breakfast bar were sweet, helpful, and professional. The location was great. Nice pool and great parking. Loved having the convenience of the Marketplace to buy food and drink, but it was a bit expensive, which I already suspected. The foyer area was always clean and pleasing. They had a refreshment bar with lemonade and coffee available throughout the day, which was surprising but very welcomed. Cookies were also available one day just for the asking. Elevators worked great and always clean. Will stay there again.

  No dislikes, but I would suggest for diabetics and those watching sugar and carbs to offer low-carb, no sugar syrup for the waffles, and also low-carb/keto bread.

  I loved how close it was to everything. It was a walk away from everything I had planned. The hotel is like a block away from the Tabernacle. The giant window view was superb. The room is very spacious and perfect for getting ready for events. Lighting was a 10/10

  My room key was deactivated multiple times and wouldn't let me use the elevator. I got stuck in the elevator at one point. I had to go back to the front desk multiple times to fix my room keys. Also, the bathroom did not match the pictures. The bathroom is comparable to a Holiday Inn bathroom

  The facility did not allow pets and we checked in late at night. We did not realize that before booking, but they did let us stay and we just kept our dogs in the car and had my husband stay with them. They did not make us leave.

  The management saw the dogs in the car and we saw them walking around our car. They did not come to us since our vehicle was on record to speak with us about the issue so I went to them to see what was going on then learned they did not accept pets.

  Dirty. Bugs. Bed was old and could feel the springs and very hard. Homeless in parking lot pan handling and trying to sell stolen goods. Room smelled. Dead bugs. Asked for a queen room got a double bed. Noise outside window at 5 am for an hour.
