The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

      The location is awesome. The beach is right in front of the house with only a road between. You can watch the sunrise from the deck. There's lots of sidewalks & paths for walking. There is plenty of shopping, restaurants, & activities within a short distance.

      I prefer a firm bed and while you can make a firm bed softer by adding removable mattress toppers, you cannot make a soft bed firmer. I tried both of the beds on different nights & couldn't get good sleep on either. The kitchen layout is also a bit odd, but that probably can't be helped. If you are cooking a full meal you have to keep walking back & forth to get the utensils and dishes. There is also no dishwasher.

      The staff was very kind and accommodating. I like that it was near the parks in walking distance about 15 min. We are happy breakfast was included during our stay.

      The construction that happened right outside our hotel room on the stairway early in morning as I wasn't aware of the noticed in the lobby because it was late at night the day before to noticed the sign.

      Not really anything. We were trying to check out early--before 5:00--and we kept getting an error. I finally saw that we needed to personally go to the desk for that. When we did, we got checked out very quickly.
