- “Great location! The proprietors Olav and Brigitte were fantastic hosts. We rode our bikes on a terribly rainy day, and they assisted us with our baggage and even cleaning the bikes off too. The room was excellent - first class linens, and great bathroom products. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic too - we enjoyed a nice sampling of yogurts, meats and cheeses. We even got to sample several of the cheeses that Brigitte sells in her store. Arcen is a quaint beautiful little town, and La Dominette is right in the center. Wonderful restaurants are within a 50 meter or less walk. This is an outstanding B & B - one of the very best we’ve ever stayed in!!”

  The location was wonderful, a few minutes walk to the riverwalk, a few minutes walk to navy pier- the beds are always wonderfully comfortable.

  Our room was quite dirty, broken pieces of fixtures, piles of food and dirt behind the dresser and nightstand; things it seems the turndown staff forgot such as not filling lotion bottles; our sink was backing up and part of the bathroom vanity was breaking off upon arrival, overall didn’t seem like the room was well kept. About the staff and check in process- it was messy. The front desk agent gave major attitude when I arrived and asked if there was a possibility a room was ready before the traditional check in time( a normal question at hotels and was also on my booking comment for the hotel)- she wouldn’t even look up from the computer to answer me. When we went to drop off our bags we had to stand and wait about 20 minutes for a bellhop to notice us or come to the desk; I also don’t understand why parking that is attached to the building was completely full AND very expensive. I’ve stayed at doubletrees all over the US and this was the least put together and the most difficult to check in at.

  Room was dark and dingy. No bath towels. Hand towels and washcloths only. Room was musty. Door to room looked like it had been broken into. Crack showed daylight. Very sketchy people hanging outside our room. Very uncomfortable.
