- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  The rooms were very clean, well taken care of and plenty of towels, soap and shampoo. It had a very nice fridge and microwave. The front staff was extremely pleasant and gave us an extension cord for my husband's CPAP machine. It was very convenient to the highway and they even had a heated pool that was very clean as well as the rest of the property. It's on the right hand side more towards the seat the corner of where the seat is at

  Bed was made but looked like someone had been just got up off of it, which was concerning... Carpet had dirt clods from shoe and this not vacuumed... made us question the whole stay experience.

  Very clean. Ample parking. Staff was very friendly. Free drink special while we were there. Comfy and clean rooms. Spacious rooms. Comfy bed. Indoor pool. Ice in the room.

  At least it wasn't far from the arena. I guess having 24/7 rofo next door was a plus, considering breakfast didn't happen.

  Service was rude. They had fees and policies not listed on booking. Checking via Wyndham online meant nothing, because I had to do it again when we arrived. We could've gotten the Hilton for less after unexpected fees. I know it was a smoking room, but it was trash. Stained non absorbent towels, cigarette burns in everything, broken furniture, melted shower curtain, dust. Whatever detergent they use is not at all hypoallergenic, as a heads up to anyone, I woke up in hives. Ice machine broken, so had to buy ice at rofo. No vending. Expensive things at rofo. The five mile distance from the arena wasn't even worth it, considering parking was as much as the extra fees. Also, booking says 1pm checkout was a free upgrade, they wanted to keep our deposit to do so. I've worked social media and hospitality. There is clearly zero communication between third parties, or there's something sketchy going on. I'd fight for a refund if I didn't think it would have yet another $40 fee.

  I love the property and the overall set up of the place. I try to book there whenever possible.

  My stay was for a week and the floor was not cleaned until my last day. The floor was dirty when I checked in. During my stay my coffee pods, cups and sugar/creamer packs were not refilled. Although I could get them from housekeeping if I asked. I did not like the parking $10 a day added cost. That was something new since my last stay.
