The room carpet was really dirty it was indeed vacuum when we arrived but it need to be deeply cleaned up as the carpet was already sticky from the accumulation of excessive use and the drying machine was not working properly I spend 10$ trying to get some of my close dry up and it never dry it clothes were hot but not dry

When I walked into the room there was a soda bottle cap on the floor next to the bed. It wasn’t hidden in any way. Seemed odd as everything else seemed clean.

Location was great.
They are using old photo of the hotel it's not in the same condition that the photos would leave you to believe, which is frustrating because you are paying the price for the hotels in the photo, but that isn't what you actually get making the value for this hotel terrible. There are too many other hotels in the area that are better maintained. Don't waste your money.

“So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

“I really enjoyed my stay. The cottages are new, it's clear they were built recently. They are within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the plumbing is high-quality, and the beds are comfortable. It's also very nice that there are automatic blinds on the windows, so you can sleep in complete darkness in the morning. Additionally, each cottage has a shared kitchen.”
