The pool area is excellent and the breakfast was good. It’s right off of the highway, so it’s easy to get where you need to go.
The fire alarm went off on three separate occasions in the early morning, so we didn’t sleep much. There was no actual fire, just a problem in the boiler room. We attempted to connect with hotel staff and the general manager on four separate occasions for compensation, but they never returned calls or emails. We ended up getting 10,000 BW reward points by contacting the headquarters. It was a big run around. I will not stay here again.

There is a nice restaurant attached to the Inn. They have amazing clam chowder. The place was clean and comfortable.
There is no coffee in the room. You had to get dressed and go downstairs for coffee and the microwave,

“So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the plumbing is high-quality, and the beds are comfortable. It's also very nice that there are automatic blinds on the windows, so you can sleep in complete darkness in the morning. Additionally, each cottage has a shared kitchen.”
