The room we were given was gorgeous, no qualms with the inner room itself, but getting to it was a little odd, with 2 different sets of stairs to climb to get to it after you get off the elevator. Not too much else to give good comments or say that I liked it. Very disappointed in our stay overall.
Poor quality service, room was difficult to enter, and both pools were nasty, over chlorinated, and unkept.we couldn'tget towels without standing in a super long line. It was over priced for what we got. A kitchenette without any dishes, not even a coffee stirrer, barely any coffee. I won't return to this motel again.

Great staff) owner, very friendly and helpful. The inn is in a perfect location, very quiet and off the main roads. Everything was super clean and there is a nice seating area outside to relax and read/talk. Best place in Newcastle.
Beds are a bit bouncy and could use an upgrade.

There was construction going on that was a little noisy, but I understand that they are building a better bar and breakfast area!

location, dining was good quality, staff friendly and helpful
room was average, could have been cleaner and more effort to please us the paying customer, The window to the door was uncleaned and did not get cleaned all week, cleaning services did not touch the room all week, only emptied garbage 3 times in our week stay,, you would think at 400 dollars a night, you would get towels replaced. We did ok, but no effort.

The room floor was dirty when checked in. I don’t think it was vacuumed after the previous guest checked out. The AC didn’t work properly. It was set to 62 but it felt like 75 or more, I was still sweating.

There were cockroaches in the bathroom and it stunk, it was also stained. They changed our room however it was still unsettling.

“So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

“I really enjoyed my stay. The cottages are new, it's clear they were built recently. They are within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the plumbing is high-quality, and the beds are comfortable. It's also very nice that there are automatic blinds on the windows, so you can sleep in complete darkness in the morning. Additionally, each cottage has a shared kitchen.”
