The downstairs area was nice. And the breakfast was nice.
The room was dingy. We were told it was an upgrade, but it felt like a downgrade to be honest. The couch in the room I was in was heavily stained, and there was a huge red juice or paint stain in the middle of the living room it was quite the blight. The mattress had white sheets which is to be expected, but they were stained heavily and some of the spots looked like small blood stains. Lastly, housekeeping barged in every day we were there and never even knocked. It was okay to say the least.

I selected this place because of the reviews I had read, ohhh, how they were so wrong. When we checked in, the association was very unfriendly to my family. It was a feeling of how quick can I get you gone, or I dont care. I tried to ask questions and got nowhere. We had no ideas about the facility, how to park, where our room was, or literally how to get there, we walked around a couple of corners to find it. I tried to ask questions and got nothing. Finally, someone else was on the desk or text line and gave me the info I needed, yet it was not as explained at check-in. I will never ever again stay here. My entire families feet were literally black after walking around the room for one-night barefoot. This will show how clean it is. Not to mention colors and hair in other places and not to mention the water/mildew damage in the bathrooms vidible to the eye. This place is not well kept. They claim to offer breakfast, but its not complimentary. You have to pay. Not only were the services unexpectedly rude, but the staff were extremely rude and short with the clients. I will never ever stay here or another place in the same realm. Even asking where to get coffee was rude. I could go ok and on, please take my advice and stay elsewhere.

The pics are very deceiving it is not as clean at all. The towels are stained, walls are so dirty, and the room smelled really weird as if there was rotten garlic in it. Sprayed anything you can think of and stop couldn’t get rid of it.

The bed and couch were hard as a rock. And we didn't get the room I reserved and no ice on my floor and the breakfast was not up to par for a hotel like that and the valet parking messed up my car.

The staff was kind and hard working and the location was stunning. The food was good.
Our room was not thoroughly cleaned. There was hair from previous guests in our bathroom, which we brought to the attention of staff, who assured us it would be cleaned. It was not. The entire room appeared to have needed a deep clean, with he’s y dust throughout the room. Furthermore, we reached out to the staff multiple times through email, and even now, over 14 hours later, have yet to hear back about our concerns.

“So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

Breakfast is good, the other food is very standard but their kitchen is tiny and they were super honest and suggested where else we could eat which was appreciated! “This is one of our favorite B&Bs of all time. The communication with Carla was outstanding and she is very friendly and helpful upon arrival. Inside, the space is immaculate and spacious. The bed is one of the more comfortable we've ever had, and the innovative breakfast delivery system is very convenient. The breakfast is plentiful, varied, and delicious. The outdoor space allocated to the B&B is manicured with fruit trees and a nice seating area. Parking is right by the entrance. Very conveniently located for our needs connecting with local family. Just a perfect place to stay.”

“I really enjoyed my stay. The cottages are new, it's clear they were built recently. They are within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the plumbing is high-quality, and the beds are comfortable. It's also very nice that there are automatic blinds on the windows, so you can sleep in complete darkness in the morning. Additionally, each cottage has a shared kitchen.”
