The location was excellent for travelers. Hotel, gas station, and restaurant were within minutes of each other. The room was clean, spacious, well-stocked, and comfortable.

The room was not thoroughly cleaned. The bathroom was a little dirty. Water stopped working for 20 minutes in the morning. There is a night club bumping music until 2am that can be heard from all the higher floors

There’s no pool and the new incidental feel i definitely don’t care for i don’t feel that there should be an incidental fee as long as you have my card information to charge if any incidentals are found sometimes people may not have that extra 100$ which will keep people from staying there

Room was spacious clean and comfortable
Pool situation was weird and unclear. There was a pool for the hotel but it's also used by other groups and it took some investigation to figure out where we could go without paying extra for the water park that is also there.

The coffee bar downstairs was great
It seemed like the room had been vacant awhile and not checked before we arrived. The toilet didn't work until I took off the lid and unstuck the plunger. The conditioner in the shower was also completely clogged due to lack of use, and the batteries in the tv remote were dead. The couch was as hard as a rock. Glad no one was supposed to sleep on it.

“So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

“I really enjoyed my stay. The cottages are new, it's clear they were built recently. They are within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the plumbing is high-quality, and the beds are comfortable. It's also very nice that there are automatic blinds on the windows, so you can sleep in complete darkness in the morning. Additionally, each cottage has a shared kitchen.”
