Everything was excellent overall. The apartment was beautiful, exactly like the photos, well equipped, clean, and in a great location in the city.
What was less positive was the communication once we arrived and checked in. Unlike in a hotel, there was no one on-site to talk to, which made things more difficult

Very clean and grand, beautiful outside and inside. The bed was comfortable and the views would’ve been outstanding without all the construction.
Lack of self parking and being required to use the valet, the construction took away from the experience because it was on 3 of 4 sides, our WiFi didn’t work 2/3 days there (and our phones were in SOS mode up in the rooms) while being charged for a resort fee that included premium WiFi. Additionally, we weren’t allowed to use the bellhop cart without a bellhop with us, we understand it’s hotel policy and a great service for some, but not everyone wants to pay for things they can do themselves (tipping every time you valet/use the bellhop cart). Not accepting cash at any place in the hotel made it difficult to even get cash to tip anyone.

Breakfast & very nice check-in man was very helpful. Beds were great had a wonderful sleep.
Well…the drain in the sink was plugged and looked like hair in it. The housekeeping could pay attention to their dusting. Dust was on the top of the bed frames and light stand and behind the TV. Bathroom corners could of been cleaned a little better.

The beds were lumpy and we didn’t realize we were not staying in the historic building.

Well designed spacious room with comfortable bed.
No room cleaning at all for our 4 night stay. Not even restocking coffee packets! Pool closed for 3 of the days of out stay and the hot tub was closed for 2 days. The location was not great- very suburban vibe.

5am the neighbora upstairs are clomping, wearing their hiking boots with no idea there were people under them as they were getting ready for a days hiking. Buried in the description said that it could be loud, but there's literally nothing between you and the neighbor above other than floor boards and drywall. We reached out to the owners who held to the language buried in the description. The thing is the rules also said that quiet time is until 8am. I guess if you get the cheap apartment on the lower floor you get no consideration, regardless of quiet policy. We kinda felt like second class citizens while staying here. So I guess be prepared for your neighbors to wake you up whenever they want, if you stay on the lower floors?

“So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

“I really enjoyed my stay. The cottages are new, it's clear they were built recently. They are within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the plumbing is high-quality, and the beds are comfortable. It's also very nice that there are automatic blinds on the windows, so you can sleep in complete darkness in the morning. Additionally, each cottage has a shared kitchen.”
