Comfortable stay with easy access to the two main sections of Mt. Rainier National Park. The staff were really friendly and helpful. There was a big swapmeet in town that we hadn't been aware of, which was kind of fun. Lots of people around and LOTS of stuff to look at.
I noticed that the nightstand in our room had not been cleaned, so I cleaned it with some wipes I brought. There was also what looked like had previously been a small bag of ice in the fridge that had melted, so there was water all over the fridge. Everything else seemed clean, but we didn't feel as confident since there were several items missed.

It was very tiny and very dirty. I ended up leaving my reservation but not before i called booking. Com. Which they said they were going to reimburse me for the 2 nights sense i bought the insurance package but i have yet to see it and it’s been weeks.

The ONLY thing we didn’t like was the bed was really hard, felt like sleeping on the floor. And the pillows were square shape more like cushions than pillows.

It's in a central location.
The old AC makes loud noise permanently. The elevator wasn't working. They didn't want to refund the extra night I booked by mistake. The room looks old and depressing. The humidity of the small bathroom stays inside the room.

Location was wonderful
As many other reviewers mentioned. This property while old as a selling point it is also quite dated. Old lights, bathroom is tiny...1 person at a time, tiny. Bed soso. Dirty and cluttered balcony, would not stay again..could be so much better with some minor updates.

“So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

“I really enjoyed my stay. The cottages are new, it's clear they were built recently. They are within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the plumbing is high-quality, and the beds are comfortable. It's also very nice that there are automatic blinds on the windows, so you can sleep in complete darkness in the morning. Additionally, each cottage has a shared kitchen.”
