I've stayed here a few times, but i had a different experience this time, i checked into a all female 6 bed dormitory, and on my last night I was the last person to come into the room, all beds were occupied, I got up early in the morning to get ready for the day but just needed to wait my turn for the shower, well to my surprise a young man came out and was getting his shoes & backpack from his area, I was in total SHOCK!! I double-checked my reservation & I was correct..all female! I notified the clerk, and he couldn't believe it as well & apologized, but i feel like something else should have been done. Besides this matter happening, the establishment is great. It was human era.

Such a beautiful location and wonderful staff. The bed was the most comfortable we encountered during our Alaska stay. Can’t wait to make it back and stay here again. If you fish make sure to chat them up about location tips, etc.!

I didn’t like much from the property. You really get what you pay for.
The hotel room is extremely dirty walls cobwebs, baseboards,toilet wasn’t even clean. You can see urine marks on it, and the floors were not clean. The door was broken down and it was just a mess. Worst stay ever.

“So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

“I really enjoyed my stay. The cottages are new, it's clear they were built recently. They are within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the plumbing is high-quality, and the beds are comfortable. It's also very nice that there are automatic blinds on the windows, so you can sleep in complete darkness in the morning. Additionally, each cottage has a shared kitchen.”
