Pine Mountain Club, California
The property has great potential and set up. It has a lot of amenities including games room downstairs with pool table, arcade machine and lots of games, a full kitchen, good number of queen bed guest rooms that are separated from each other upstairs with a bunkbed room great for kids downstairs, nice relaxing views, outdoor and indoor fireplace for cozy feel. It's easy to check in and long driveway to park a number of cars. The property manager would respond to calls (but not texts or voicemails).
There were a number of maintenance issues with the property that needs to be addressed: outdoor grill was very dirty (when we tried to heat off old residue, there was so much built up it partially melted knob) and only 1 of 3 of grill heated; the indoor stovetop had a pilot stuck, which kept repeatedly igniting and heat was very high even on low; downstairs shower had very low water pressure - water wouldn't heat, door lock not working, while sink barely drained. Despite booking for a party of 15, they didn't prepare enough bedsheets for all pullouts to be used, nor enough towels. We had to improvise and a few of us were cold. Mattresses were strangely stacked really high in 2 upstairs bedrooms, hard to climb onto, and were extremely soft. Breaker tripped for master bedroom and we had to search for it to turn lights on. There are quite a few number of lightbulbs in the chandeliers that have burnt out and not been replaced, making lighting quite dim in the evening.

It was really nice , pool area was big ! The rooms were nice and bed was comfortable. Ice / microwave area was easy to access & clean ! Over all great experience & there is so much around the area walking distance

“So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

“I really enjoyed my stay. The cottages are new, it's clear they were built recently. They are within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the plumbing is high-quality, and the beds are comfortable. It's also very nice that there are automatic blinds on the windows, so you can sleep in complete darkness in the morning. Additionally, each cottage has a shared kitchen.”
