I absolutely loved everything about the property: the care with each detail, the cleaning, the beauty of the property, staff extremely kindness,the breakfast very practical and delicious allows the guests the freedom of having breakfast any time. This is my first time coming to California and just staying for 18h. To be honest, once I stepped into the hotel, the decoration itself reminded me of the song Hotel California. I think it has that kind of magic (or maybe becoz Im just a tourist). Although you can not tell from its outside. I like it a lot.

Fabian at front desk was very nice. Went out of his way to make sure he made us feel welcome. Eggs were good ( but lukewarm).
Someone else’s hair still in bathtub. Tub had several long cracks in it. Tater tots and ham served at breakfast not good. Tots were dryer out and meat looked like warmed deli ham. Bananas in bowl on counter were older than I was.

the bathroom door was banged up and very old. It looked like a very old motel door. the air conditioner was so noisy it sounded like an airplane taking off. the fan in the bathroom was broken. the hallway doors were banged up too.

“So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

“I really enjoyed my stay. The cottages are new, it's clear they were built recently. They are within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the plumbing is high-quality, and the beds are comfortable. It's also very nice that there are automatic blinds on the windows, so you can sleep in complete darkness in the morning. Additionally, each cottage has a shared kitchen.”
