Garden was well kept up with, there was grass for my dog to pee and poop, rooms were also pretty clean and kept up with! We lost paci in the sheets and the cleaning lady helped find it.
There was construction going on beside it and the third floor also smelled like pee when getting on the elevator.

Breakfast was offered. Eggs with cheese were good. Not enough attention was paid to refill things like hot water for cereal or tea, or milk and chocolate milk.
Super poor air circulation in the room. The old filter in the AC needed to be changed by request. Odor still lingered. Nobody changed towels or emptied trash while we stayed.

Great location close to major attractions, We really liked the room.
Only reason we are knocking off two points is because the building we were put in was a bit away from the main building and the parking was hard to find in this smaller building so we had to park across the road at the main building. My main issue is that I wish this "side building" had some staff/human presence or someone manning the desk or security. Even though this was gated, I would feel more comfortable if there was some kind of security.

“So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

“I really enjoyed my stay. The cottages are new, it's clear they were built recently. They are within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the plumbing is high-quality, and the beds are comfortable. It's also very nice that there are automatic blinds on the windows, so you can sleep in complete darkness in the morning. Additionally, each cottage has a shared kitchen.”
