- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  I had a lovely stay during my recent trip to Laguna Beach! From check-in to check-out, the staff were incredibly friendly and approachable. I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade from a queen to a king room, and even better, they were able to honor my original request for an ocean view. The room itself was fairly clean and the bed was comfortable. One of my favorite parts was the balcony: it was the perfect spot to enjoy the ocean breeze and watch the sunset on my last evening. The location was also super convenient: just a quick 5-minute walk to one of the nearby beach spots. Parking was easy and convenient, which I really appreciated. Just a heads-up: the exit opens directly to a busy street and sidewalk, so a little extra caution when pulling out is a good idea.

  The small things I’d suggest for improvement: the Wi-Fi signal in the room could be stronger, and having a more easily accessible outlet (so we don’t have to leave electronics charging on the floor) would be a great upgrade.

  The location was really great. It is located right on the boardwalk and close to the inlet. The deck with the rocking chairs was awesome and we used it every day we were there. The rooms and the hotel itself was very clean.

  The rooms are very outdated, but that can be part of the charm. We were here in the off season so parking wasn't a problem, but I imagine during the summer parking near the hotel would be problematic.

  Great size for the room, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom. A very easy walk to Bathhouse Row. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast (included) was very basic, but that was ok!

  Valet parking $20/day - though I got there Saturday night and only stayed through Sunday. Parking is free on the street from 6PM onwards on Saturday and all day Sunday, so it did not impact me in the end.

  We were told we would get a 2 bedroom room, 1 with a King bed, 1 with 2 queen beds and a living room with a couch. They only have 1 room with 2 queen beds. Our phone didn't work and we reported it several times and they never did come and fix it and we were there for 4 days. We had to ask for a trash can for the bathroom. They never did come and clean and ask if we wanted fresh towels. Parking was very expensive.
