- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  The restaurant/bar is huge and has a variety of seating arrangements where one can eat and drink in a group or solo comfortably. There were unexpected comfy chairs in nooks of curves walls that surprised me and I used. The gym had everything I needed. And the pool looked refreshing. The lobby was spacious. There were luggage carts so I handled my suitcases myself. Best of all there was shuttle bus service to the airport, even at four in the morning, which was important.

  staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms where clean and smelled clean. The pool water was clean. No problems with parking. One of my best stays of anywhere this year. Will return again.

  Bed was a little stiff and so was the couch. There were no trash liners in the trash cans, so I had to buy some. Not sure if liners are used at the motel but I personally like to take my trash out daily and having a trash liner makes that a lot easier. The coffee pot did not take k-cups so I bought a cheap coffee make that used k-cups so I could enjoy my favorite brand.

  The location was great, right on the Seawall with an Ocean and Pool View. The condo was very clean.

  I didn't like that there was an additional charge once we got there. However, it was mentioned previously, so I was expecting it. Also, there was no hot water in the shower, only lukewarm.

  Employee at check in was not friendly whatsoever. I must say, he was not rude but he certainly wasn't friendly. Of the 5 hotels we stayed in, I would say this one was the most uncomfortable check in due to the employee's (lack of) personality.

  The first room we had booked did not have a bathroom door. The next room they gave us the commode would not flush. The mattress had a sunk in the middle. It was suppose to be smoke free facility & property but yet everybody was smoking cigarettes & weed everywhere including the rooms. One guy was standing at the front entrance when we arrived smoking a blunt(weed). Had only 1 elevator working so it took forever to do 5 stories. Taking the stairs was way quicker! It SUCKED. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE BOOK LAQUINTA.
