- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  There are lots of restaurants and shopping in the area, you do need a car to get to them but short drives. The property seemed pretty new and was clean. The included breakfast was good, they have a person that makes omelets not just usual scrambled eggs.

  The only bad thing is seating for the breakfast not many tables, but you could always just take it back to your room and eat there.

  I’m all about cleanliness and our condo was very organized but the bedroom and bathrooms were not clean. Our bedroom curtains were covered in rust and looked like mold and the comforter and pillows on the bed were very dingy with stains. the guest bathroom had rust all over the shower curtain. There was rust all over the ironing board cover as well so we had to iron on the bed so we wouldn’t get rust on our clothes.

  It's a fun, little location. You are amongst the private homes and Air BnBs up on stilts. The beach is literally 30 seconds away. You turn down the street flanking the side of the hotel and bam -- the beach, which is clean and stunning. It's convenient and exactly what you want if you're trying to just enjoy the most out of the beach. I stayed for one night and went to the beach three times! If you're looking for a hotel get-away, this is not it. There is no breakfast included. This is a location for folks who want to enjoy the beach and planned ahead with food and other personal needs. Do not come to this location without thinking ahead or stopping somewhere along the way. I also loved the automatic door lock and keycode. Despite it's humble appearance, I think this is an excellent hotel, so long as you're coming to enjoy the beach.

  There is no kitchen, just a small fridge and microwave, and the room felt sticky because of the humidity. Yes, there's an air conditioner, but when it's not running you're going to stick to the sheets, which are not made of cotton. They were definitely made with cleaning off sand in mind, which I can't blame the hotel for thinking about.
