The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  Great value at just under 100 per night. The rooms are immaculately clean (the housekeeping staff is awesome) and the AC units in the rooms BLAST cold air. Don’t even need the fridge in the room, just leave the AC on and you’re good. John at the front desk is the man too! Always in a good mood and knows the area well for pointers on certain places or things to do. I’d stay here again anytime!

  Room is extremely small, you don't have apace to move for a family of 3 people standard room with king bed and sofa - strongly NOT recommended. Food had very limited options, very sweet and space for the breakfast was not.enough to accomodate the number of gueats. More than that in our last day we were needed to eat breakfast near reception!!! Elevators cannot accomodate the high flow of people, especially in the morning! This was not an experience we would like to have in the future in NYC!

  The biggest thing: the interior door frame was cracked. Someone had obviously tried to break into the room and the motel never bothered to fix the door frame. Testing the door you could tell it was loose, like it wouldn't be much effort to finish the job. I did not feel secure in that room. I should've looked into getting another room. The beds were also hard and cheap. Plenty of covers though! And the breakfast was very basic, to say the least. Almost like, why bother?

  The hotel has the worst reception staff I’ve ever encountered—uncooperative, unhelpful, and completely careless. When I informed the receptionist that I was heading to the airport, I expected at least a basic level of support. However, when I came down with my luggage, he simply told me the bus had already left. He never called me to come earlier nor asked the driver to wait a minute. As a result, I had to pay $20 for an Uber to the airport. It wasn’t the extra cost that upset me, but the complete disregard shown by the staff. When I confronted him, he responded disrespectfully, without any sense of regret, showing zero concern that a guest was upset. This clearly shows a lack of training in even the most basic customer care. On top of that, the breakfast is shockingly poor. They offer only two or three options, served with disposable plastic cutlery, while pretending it’s a “proper” breakfast service. This hotel does not deserve to charge for breakfast, and I strongly advise future guests not to pay any additional fee for it.
