  This a beautiful house with three bedrooms upstairs, each with a shower and commode. Very CLEAN. We had the privilege of meeting Andrea (house manager) who gave us a quick, thorough history of the house and the town. She gave us some recommendations for restaurants and meeting places. The town is small so we walked everywhere, and were able to see the town in a full day, then explore Carson City about 20 minutes away. It's a small-town vibe and many people were generally curious where we were from and very friendly.

  The drive to Virginia City has a lot of hills and REALLY TIGHT turns, on one lane roads. If you are confident driving in snow or heavy rain more power to you but BE WARNED. Thankfully I arrived in broad daylight with great weather but there was a threat of snow and or freezing rain. I departed at night and there are few street lights along the route and high-beams can only do so much.

  Location was fine. Staff were polite. The kitchenette was nice but we weren't expecting that the coffee maker was only for K cups. A pair of scissors, even suitable for children, would have been nice. The TV was a nice size but a channel guide would have been helpful.

  Quite possibly THE worst bed we've ever tried to sleep on. By 1:30am, we decided to abandon our anniversary weekend plans to drive 90 minutes back home, in the rain. IF there's a "next time" we'll bring all of our own pillows, without apologies. As I checked out, I said there was a "family emergency" rather than complain. (Tthe staff said the hotel was full - I didn't expect to get another room. My wife is wheelchair bound so accessibility to the bathroom could be an issue. The "emergency" was: we could not sleep on that bed.)

  My husband and I loved the room. It was clean and updated. The bed was comfortable and we loved the location.

  We didn't like the fact that there were guests staying next door with a child that continued to scream and run around until about 12:30pm. Also, a man was sitting in the benches outside and talking loud on the phone. We couldn't sleep as well as we wanted. I realized there was a security number that we could have called the next morning.

  There was trash in my room when I got there, the towels on the sink had been used and the soap was unwrapped. It looked like someone poured something down the sink and there was no cold water. Only very very hot water and the toilet wouldn't flush every time. I have stayed there before and had no issues but this was a huge let down.
