Location was amazing! It is located right across from the beach. Staff was very friendly, bed was comfy, pool was great and blocked the wind, breakfast was tasty! The price I paid for my room was spectacular for a hotel of this caliber. I would recommend to anyone staying in Galveston - especially those who want a special experience but on a budget!

Only one thing - I would recommend they put a key card opening to all entrances because there is a large walkway that anyone can walk in to the courtyard and I think some people came in trying to mess with the guests which resulted in some yelling. -- Besides that - the stay was perfect!

I wish the small balcony would have had 2 chairs and not just one. The air conditioning unit was so loud you couldn't hear the tv and it went on and off all night in the bedroom. The new bedside table lights are so low you can't put anything on the nightstands.

First of all how is that the bathroom lights kept going on and off which I had to keep calling the front desk and complaining about. Second of all how is that there was only one working elevator considering they had four which caused issues when wanting to leave the hotel because they would be packed and would have no choice but to wait. The stairway doors were locked so I couldn't even walk down the stairs. The front desk people didn't even know what to really say because everyone was complaining. It was ridiculous and yet they are charging an extra $250 security fee in case of any damages to the rooms, um how about having working elevators and proper electricity. They got a lot of nerve. There website is very deceiving because the site makes it seem like it's the Hilton when it's more like the HELLTON don't be fooled like I was. The ice machine on my floor was not working and front desk said go to one of the upper floors and of course to do that requires waiting for the one elevator. Front desk was useless after a while. That hotel needs to be shutdown because it's GARBAGE and that's me using a nice word instead of what I really want to say. I can really care less how they feel about my review because they know its true!!

The overwhelming odor in every part of this facility made my stay painful. Whatever they are using as a fragrance smelled like urinal cakes. I have experienced this in pet friendly hotels but did not expect it at marriot.

Both bathrooms are downstairs. Listing stated “full bath on first floor” so we assumed the other bathroom was upstairs. Only air unit is upstairs but overall was pretty comfortable just got stuffy during the warmer part of the day.

We had been told the previous day (on the phone) that we had our requested K room on the top floor facing the pool. However, upon checking in the reception said there was no such note. The 2Q room on 4th floor was horrible. Impossible to get into bed and the chair was very worn and torn on the arms. So they put us in a K room on second floor where they put dogs which we do not like. Then, we could not get our honors points because we had booked through Booking.com. We should still get our points for the 4 nights stay!
