The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  Under 10 minute walk to two subway lines and only a few stops to Manhattan and on the 7 line to Flushing for the US Open and Mets stadium. Wonderful pub half a block away with good food and drinks and several delis within two blocks that offer breakfast, lunch and dinner options plus snacks and drinks, etc. The room is somewhat small but typical of NYC hotels. Comfy bed and plenty of pillows although the sheets are thin polyester, basic and tolerable. Fortunately the towels were of better quality. Nice sized tub/shower combo with good water pressure and quick hot water. A/C also quickly cooled the room and worked well. Although our room faced the road, we heard no outside noise which meant the sound proofing worked fine. All the front desk staff was cheerful and helpful. Nothing exciting about this hotel but it's reliably dependable and clean and a good place to stay. Nice to have hot tea or coffee available 24/7.

  Cheap polyester sheets that were tolerably comfortable. The cable connection was not good which meant many stations kept coming in and out.

  The room was basic but it had what you need - enough space, bed, loveseat, refrigerator, and desk area. It was VERY clean. What I liked most was the service. Denise and the young woman attendant at the front desk answered all of our questions about the beach, where to eat, real estate, etc. Also, they had things in the office reception area that were convenient - water bottles, coffee, wine opener, wine glasses, etc. It's really the staff and service that made me appreciate the place.
