- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were moderately friendly, and the hot tub in our room was great, although it was definitely a one at a time ride kinda small but no complaints. The shower was nice and hot with good water pressure, and the location was great. There is a waffle house right across the street. It's a great choice for breakfast if you dont want hotel bread breakfast

  There were several huge spiders in our room. Im not talking about daddy long legs either. These things were big enough to eat a small dog. The pool looked nice, but it was always filled with splashing, screaming children, so we didn't even attempt it. The ice machine on the first floor was broken. We had to venture to the second floor ( which smelled strongly of marijuana) for ice. Also, the breakfast was breads and only breads

  spa was cold bubbles worked I had requested a walk in shower because I can not lift my legs didn't honer I was given one with tub then we had to change to a king bed and sofa bed because they said no other rooms with walk in shower was available the sofa bed was terrible it was very worn and the mattress had a lot of stains and was the size of a toddler mattress and the sheets for the sofa bed smelled terrible they need to check them to make sure they are fresh and clean I did not like the dirty bedding the place needs some upgrades they should pay me to stay I could go to super 8 and have a better stay I was very upset with this stay I am a Wyndham member and to have a stay like this is terrible
