- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  The property is very nice, good for pictures. The people at the front desk was very accommodating this time due to the room not being ready. I have videos, not pictures. The pool area is very beautiful just cold.

  The bartender at the pool bar had a nasty disposition, it needs some type of entertainment. I know it's a casino, but it needs a nightclub or something with music and the restaurants are horrible all except for Guy fury. The pool was not heated so that sucks since it goes outside.

  Thought we liked the location - wasn't close enough to St. George's St area though. Our room was nice enough. Bed was comfortable thankfully since both of us got sick and stayed in bed the whole visit unfortunately. Shower was the most powerful shower I have ever used! Room had a mini fridge and microwave and coffee maker. A/C worked well and not too much noise.

  The property overall was run down and in need of some "sprucing up". The checkin area was run down and there wasn't a working bathroom in the so called lobby. Didn't get to use the pool but it looked decent enough. The outside patio furniture could be replaced to look more inviting. Very blah. I don't think we would stay here again.

  Horribly tiny room meant there was no place to change clothes after a shower, or put luggage anywhere in the room. No coffee/tea facility in room, no iron. Rooftop bar had loud music till 3 in the morning making it difficult to sleep. There as also a subway train rattling across the bridge next to the building. No hot breakfast in the hotel. 2-3 minimal items (muffins, yogurt, granola bars) were provided in breakfast. Thermostat panel had a bright LCD light that illuminated the whole room making it difficult to get a dark room to sleep in.
