The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  The breakfast was awesome. I liked the size of the hotel wasn't too big and lobby easily accessible. It was a good central hub to launch and return from my daily shopping.

  The door left a crack where light spilled into the room. It wasn't bad but it did make it harder to fall asleep. the door didn't close unless you physically closed it. Most door auto close. I had to remember to close it all the way every time I entered. The toilet seat needs adjusting or a new one. (Room 201). the Corner chair had a rip in it. All minor things but I thought I'd let you all know so you can make it even better. Otherwise I loved the room.

  The GM PPatel and his wife who also work there is horribly rude, unprofessional and flat out liars! I had issues from the time that I checked in. The sink in the bathroom was stopped up and the refrigerator did not work, I notified Mr. Patel’s wife and Mr. Patel himself. A day and a half later is when they came and replace the refrigerator without being informed or notified that someone would be entering our room and after my food has spoiled already. I went down to speak to mr. Patel, who was at the front desk about the sink, still being stopped up, and I had to continue to brush my teeth in the tub, and also I was uncomfortable with the fact that someone was in my room without notification. When I enter the lobby, he was already in a heated altercation with another guest at the whole time about the conditions of their rooms. I’m trying to have a conversation about Mr. Patel about the unsatisfactory conditions. His wife came from the back and just started screaming at me. Long story short the police was called and they agreed to refund me my money so I could check into a different hotel, but instead of refunding the full amount as agreed, they only refunded me for the day that I did not stay there Which would be the following day. I have my family reunion there every year several family members have booked at the hotel which we all have vowed to never stay there again. Do not book.!

  We only have one complaint. We were in a pool side room and the lights were to Bright all night long. 2nd night I got a blanket from the wonderful man behind the counter to put over the window which Helped Alot !! Thank you
