The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  The staff was super rude. Except for the black women who work the 2nd and 3rd shift (i think). There kindness was the only pleasant thing about my stay at this property. The girl who works the morning shift with the huge lips is just straight up unprofessional and very rude. They mistakenly thought i had smoked in the room bcuz they saw me walk in with a half of a cigarette that I had previously put out. They came banging on my door all rude and asked me to step out while they checked the room to see if I was smoking. They didnt apologize that they were wrong. When I first checked in the room I was given was gross and had a very foul odor. The TV didnt work. The phone didnt work. They switched me rooms which wasn't much better. The only good thing about the second room was that it didn't have the foul odor. My all around experience was bad.

  I did t like that the bed sheets were extremely dirty? The bathroom floor had a black circle behind the door meaning they are not cleaning properly, the bathroom door seems like they were trying to clean it because it’s half clean then on the top they didn’t finish, the mattress had a black stain and the covers too. I didn’t realize it until I pulled the covers off and it had black stains inside. The lamp on the desk had mold growing on the side. I have all the pictures. If you are going to ask for $100 deposit make sure nothing is damaged or dirty in the first place.

  The location was fine. The cost for the cabin was way too expensive. The size of the cabin was good for one person. Not two and a dog. The people next door paid a little over $400 for their stay. Why was I charged $800 for my stay when we both had the same cabin and stayed the same amount of days ? The pictures on the web site are deceiving, showing the two the three bedroom cabins making one believe that they are all the same size. For what I got, and what I was charged, I got ripped off !! I will tell 20 of my friends never to stay there as they will be extremely disappointed !!
