The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  I like the design of the Doubletree suites as far as the building entrance lobby and rooms. Having a separate bedroom and living room is always a good thing. However, there were not enough outlets where the desk was so you business people must remember to bring a power strip with USB ports with you for your business and charging needs. I also liked the location that it was across from Plymouth meeting mall but unfortunately that mall was half empty, but has at least Chick-fil-A there for something decent to eat. Also, it’s not too far from the KOP mall which is a Simon mall. Great place to visit and walk around for some awesome shopping. I believe this mall pulls away from the other malls as it’s the top choice for a mall in that area. Don’t leave without visiting that mall.

  What I did not like nor appreciated was that upon entering the lobby I had to wait a bit for the front desk attendant to come out and then when she asked for my ID, I handed it to her, but she ignored me and just left me hanging. When she was finished typing on her computer, she asked for my ID again and I had to reach over the counter because she would not meet me halfway with her reach. I’m sorry, but I won’t be coming back here again if Hilton teaches and trains their attendants to have such an attitude and poor etiquette.
