The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  It was quiet and peaceful. I was in town for business and my husband just tagged along for pleasure and time away. It was a fully functioning house with amenities you would expect a home to have. It was close to downtown while also being private and quiet. It would be a great place for families with small children, there are a lot of toys and games available. Awesome for people with allergies, no pets or smoking allowed. Very cute!

  Small hall way to rooms. Loose fixtures in bathrooms. Exit door trash can had overloaded garbage sitting by it for a few days. Rear door did not shut tight and needed repaired and painted. Too much furniture in room made it hard to move around..

  I am writing to express my significant disappointment with my recent stay at your hotel on 8/30/2025. While I had looked forward to a comfortable stay, several issues spoiled my experience. Upon check-in, the guest service representative was inhospitable and unprofessional; he chatted with a friend standing there the entire time. I had no privacy during my check-in at the front desk. Additionally, the room was unclean. I asked to not be put in a room that previously had pets. it smelled like a wet dog and the whirlpool was full of dirty grime. The staff were unhelpful when I reported it. The advertised complimentary breakfast was unavailable. . When I arrived downstairs for breakfast, it was closed; the staff had not prepared breakfast. This level of service and accommodation is unacceptable. I am very disappointed with this experience and believe it to be a breach of contract, as the services provided were not of a reasonable standard. Please let me know the steps you will take to address these issues. I look forward to your prompt response.
